Building the Wizard - A Competition Hand Launch Glider
By Patrick Dionisio and Marshall Geller
The radio gear along with the
pushrods were dropped in and the c.g. checked. Using an aft c.g.
location (per the plans), the final placement of the gear was
determined and the components were permanently installed.
|
The ruddervator horns were epoxied into place on the tails and the pushrods were cut to size and soldered at the servo end. |

A rear canopy hold down was made from a piece of large heat shrink tubing (provided in the kit), and a small piece of piano wire was glued under the front lip of the canopy to hold it securely in place. Final weight of fuselage with all components and hardware installed was 5.39 oz., and the completed wing weighed 6.54 oz., for an all up total weight of 11.93 oz.! | ![]() |

Here we are with the completed Wizard and we are pleased to report the plane flys great! On the very first hand toss (in windy conditions), the Wizard went up for a ten minute flight! |
